We spent April giving our website a refresh! The goal was to try to capture the liminal/Y2K vibe we grew up with, back when we were first discovering our love of the strange and supernatural. We hope it helps put you in the mindset that what's different can be beautiful, what's scary can be empowering, and above all...that the folklore, myths, legends, and fairy tales are world is full of are worth sharing.
In 1835, Edgar Allan Poe reviewed the book Lives of the Necromancers by William Godwin. The book wasn't just about necromancers, but was instead a sort of collection of paranormal legends from across the cultures of the West and Middle East. Reviewed for the Southern Literary Messenger, Poe said the book showcased "the great range and wild extravagancy of the imagination of man", among other bits of praise!
Long, long before Gathering Breadcrumbs was a thing, I was watching my best friend cover horror in all its forms (folk horror included!) over at SmallTown Creepy. They also make games and have published some pretty terrifying stories, with a notable tendency to empower and lift up the trans community!
